Did you know that GMO bacteria is being sprayed on your food?
Two products are approved for use on meat, especially luncheon meat. Most don't know this is on their food. Corporate owners have done a good job of getting information out there to convince people this technology is safe even though it has not been thoroughly tested. Monsanto and other biotech companies have gotten very good at spreading at strategically placing endorsements needed to get people to accept the new technology and not resist. Goal is to make it look like their technology is safe and there should be no concern over their presence on meat. These companies are piggy backing on an old technique that did have some success, but did not involve genetically modified bacteria. Many scientists are worried this technology together with daily antibiotic use on farm animals could in fact add to the antibiotic resistance problem. We have to decide if we want to eat these bacteria. All of the GMOs, antibiotics, and pesticides are helping to make us fat too. Leah Zerbe from Rodale Press did a great job at explaining the mechanism.
