There are many ways you can reduce waste.  Maybe there are some new ones here that you may have not thought of before.

Plastic can be recycled over and over again.  To try and understand just how much energy and pollution we save when we recycle plastic, just imagine how much energy it takes to first pull the oil out of ground and then turn it into plastic.  It is not hard to turn oil into plastic when it is ALREADY plastic.  From oil in the ground to plastic takes 8X more energy.  Every time we use energy we pollute, but there's a choice.
