Alison Barratt from the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program provided information that will help people make sustainable fish choices.  Fish that should not be bought, fish that pose high level mercury contamination were identified, and those fish that are the "best choices" were also featured.  Fishing techniques that waste and kill innocent fish were also explained.  Tyson Fick from the Alaskan Seafood Marketing Institute explained why Alaska has a clean sustainable seafood program, and how that program has become a model to bring back fish industries around the world and prevent overfishing.  Abby Harned, Three Sisters Farm, a Community Sustainable Agriculture (CSA) organic farmer shared the story on how her young family was able to live their dream of buying some land and becoming organic farmers who are now feeding their local community organic food to sustain their families.

Ray Kong from California Earth Minerals explained how Terramin works to detoxify and remineralize our system using a different mechanism than most people associate with detox.  Jeffrey Smith, author, Genetic Roulette and Seeds of Deception, and director of the Institute of Responsible Technology gave an update on GMO research, health risk, and food contamination.  Doctors now prescribing Non GMO Shopping List.  Roberto Argentina from Farm Artisan Foods in Redlands shared the story on how his farm roots in Italy contributed to his vision for a restaurant that worked with local farmers and 4-H clubs to bring the best quality organic and clean foods to their menu.

David Binkle, Deputy Director from Los Angeles Unified School District Foodservice Department talked about their new community grant that will enable them to increase quality of school food menu items, and work within the community.  They have already started changing menu items and connecting with local farmers.  Donna Lombardi, Director Child Nutrition for Worcester School District explained how they have been able to increase nutritional quality of meals and implement school breakfast in the classroom programs.  What parents can do at home to support healthy nutrition.  Sarah Lindberg from Notables supplies prepackaged breakfast products that help make it possible for Donna's breakfast program.  Label dectective skills are taught as the product label Nutrition Facts and ingredients for PopTarts and Nature's Path Organic Pastry Products are compared.

Ray Chong from California Earth Minerals explained the importance of mineral supplements in todays depleted food system, the differences in mineral source quality and absorbability, and how mineral deposits are formed.  The link betweeen Omega 3s and depression prevention was discussed.  Rally Ralston from Salba Smart explains how Salba differs from chia, how it was developed used non GMO techniques, and Salba as a consistent concentrated source of Omega 3s, protein, fiber, antioxidants, and a wide range of nutrients in one tiny gluten free seed.  Ray White from the Veggie Grill Restaurants helped us better understand how quinoa, an ancient gluten free whole grain also packs a high protein punch and doubles as a concentrated nutrient source that is easy to prepare.  Tips on quinoa preparations techniques and nutrient cost benefits also included.
