In this interview Zen Honeycutt, founder of MAAM (Moms Across America March), and mom Kathleen Kelly Hallah talk about what its like having a child stricken with severe allergies. Kathleen's child also had a condition called PANDAS, Pyschological and Neurological Disorder Associated with Strep whereas an underlying undetectable strep infection (by swab) stays in the blood and affects the brain. The child can exhibit erratic and unnatural behavior as well as allergic symptoms. According to Zen, "Getting a diagnosis and knowing what to do can save parents and the child from years of strife, thousands of dollars of necessary tests, hellish hospital bills and maybe even the child from ending up in a psych ward after behavior becomes uncontrollable." Something that can happen.

Farmer Howard Vlieger knew something was not right on his farm.

Still living on the same farm that he was born, farmer Howard Vlieger had grew up understanding what it meant to run a sustainable farm, and witnessed the changes brought on by big chemical corporations like Monsanto that pushed their patented genetically modified seeds and pesticides on farmers. When Howard saw changes on his farm that disturbed him, he started investigating and found some shocking results. Howard decided to take what he had learned and help other farmers. His business, Verity Sustaining Solutions, helps farmers break free from GMOs. Howard also volunteers time to educate consumers.

After years of Monsanto Round Up Ready pesticide applications, soils no longer produce without them. Farmers are forced to continue using Monsanto products even when the company keeps raising prices every year. Monsanto keeps making it harder and harder to turn a profit and keep the farm going, but farmers cannot break free even if they want to because they will be eaten alive by insects. Howard shows them how they can again have their freedom and run their farms without Monsanto products. Help through that transition stage is critical. Without Howard's help farmers may never be able to stop the GMO/pesticide toxic circle. Contaminates everything within the circle with second hand poison.

Monsanto taking farmers to court for patent charges.

Monsanto decided that it would punish and go after farmers that tried to break free from them and grow Non GMO seed. Click the picture to the right to read the Vanity Fair report on how Monsanto hires what farmers call the GMO police, mafia, and Gestapo. They spy on farmers, take pictures, and join community organizations to collect evidence to take them to court for violating the Monsanto patent. If they find even one plant in a field they say is Monsanto's seed they will threaten to take them to court. They will confront a farmer in their field and make them sign papers right then and there or face an expensive court battle. There is a supreme court case right now where Monsanto is trying to sue for taking seed out of a silo and saying it was Monsanto seed that the farmer didn't have a contract to grow it. Sounds very "Big Brotherish", and the thought of just how far Monsanto is willing to take their patent rights is scary.
