More Reasons to Support Organic Products

Click to learn more how microorganisms pull carbon out of air. We are currently at 400 ppm for the first time in millions of years and the ocean was 85 ft higher. Over 60% of global population lives within 150 miles of a coastline. Our planet did well at 350 ppm for millions of years. Need to bring the planet back to that balance.
Organic Sustainable Farming has many other savings that include safety for the environment, improve health, increase availability of safe food and water, create resources for future generations, build fertile soil so yields high and the price of organic fruits and vegetables low.
According to the Rodale Institute, "It is in times of drought when organic no till farming really comes through with yields 30% higher." We wonder if It could be the intricate support systems that nature builds when allowed to create a soil in the true sense of the word. One that could squeeze the most life out of every drop of water through a distribution system that maximizes usage for survival. We need to get good at dealing with fluctuations in weather if we want our farmers to stay in the business of feeding us. We can expect extreme weather events at a 400 ppm carbon level.
Getting to know organic companies, and the people behind them helps us make better choices at point of purchase. Our dollars can prevent climate change when we buy organic products. We can help other families support their families when we give them our dollars. Money can be more than a "buy now" click, but a shift in standards that stops the unnecessary use of pesticides. We build a network of small organic farmers that can provide local food even if energy prices skyrocket.
Petroleum prices can have a big influence on pesticide prices as part of the formula. Sustainable farms are not dependent on these outside soil food sources to farm. There is a system in place that keeps providing what the other system needs when you have a working organic farm. That includes seed production and collection for the coming year so that expense is also eliminated except for the collection and storage.
The local organic farmers get to experience the satisfaction that comes with providing others with top quality food to help them stay healthy and enjoy the satisfaction of eating original quality!
Our dollars become micro investments in something that can make things better or worse. It can be that simple. Some companies have shown they are willing to spend their profit from our business to block transparency in labeling as an example of how our dollars can be used against us.
We know organic agriculture can take on the job of removing carbon from the air is large quantities, and still keep yields high. Most agree organic is higher quality with less pesticides. When we strive for a higher standard for all, and go out of our way to make it happen, we do increase access across the board because farmers will respond.
Find a Local Organic Farmer and buy fresh and direct.
Having a network of small farms that span across our country instead of depending on a few mega farms would seem like a way to increase food security and jobs/ways for people to support & feed their families. We can help ourselves while we help others when we buy local, vegetables and fruits fresh picked and grown using USDA Certified Organic methods. Going to a farm is also great fun for kids and gets them involved in the process of understanding where their food comes from, picking favorites, and helping to prepare meals. Kids and other family members feel like they helped choose, and not just told to eat. Aren't we all rebels when it comes to our food? May come from a survival instinct to not just eat anything, but can't let that stop us from trying to eat more fresh organic vegetables most of all to prevent our #1 KILLER heart disease along with other top chronic disease killers, that are slowly sucking the life out of you so don't even notice. Organic, fresh vegetables help you heal with nutrition.
